The current ACEM Committee, and their roles.President: Jill Moss PhD MRCPath Top Grade Clinical Scientist, Charing Cross Hospital, London. Role: To liase with other professional bodies. Currently as the ACEM representative on the Association of Clinical Scientists. Chairman: Tim Ryder PhD Top Grade Clinical Scientist, Charing Cross Hospital, London. Role: To chair business meetings. Currently also representing the ACEM at meetings with the Royal College of Pathologists. Treasurer: Alan Curry PhD Top Grade Clinical Scientist, Manchester Royal Infirmary Role: To deal with all financial matters relating to ACEM and to maintain membership details. Newsletter Co-ordinator. Meetings Secretary: Bart Wagner, Chief Biomedical Scientist, Northern General Hospital, Sheffield Role: To organise venue and programme of meetings, and to liaise with invited speakers. Secretary: Pat Tarpey, Chief Biomedical Scientist, Manchester Royal Infirmary Role: Education and Training, Membership Liaison, Minutes, Newsletter Co-ordinator. Webmaster: Liz Curtis PhD Grade B Clinical Scientist, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham. Role: In partnership with web programmers IONweb design, to set up and maintain the ACEM web site. Tenure of Committee MembersAs yet no firm decisions have been made regarding tenure of posts however a suggestion of two years for the posts of president, chairman, treasurer, but three for web master and secretary. However, if at the end of a period of tenure no other member is available then a further term can be done. |
